The Story

The Express Branding Tool for Evo Lite was developed to simplify and streamline the rebranding process for low-end set-top boxes, where traditional efforts involved significant time and resources. Our goal was to create a solution that focused on the most impactful branding elements—colors and logos—allowing operators to refresh the UI without the high costs and complexities of full-scale rebranding. The UI of Evo Lite was designed with color panels, simple fonts, and images, providing an ideal foundation for this streamlined branding approach.

I contributed to the inception and development of this tool, playing a key role in designing a fully functional prototype in Flash that could communicate directly with set-top boxes. The tool allowed users to customize the UI using a color editor and select a brand "mood" that aligned with their logo. Thanks to the algorithm we developed, changes were applied across all screens, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing brand experience. The tool's success was recognized with a Spot Award at Cisco and a Best Demo Award at an international conference, highlighting its effectiveness in solving rebranding challenges quickly and efficiently.
